Beatrice Bressan is a science writer and a member of EUSJA (European Union of Science Journalists’ Associations). After obtaining a degree in Mathematical Physics (La Sapienza University, Rome, Italy) and a master in Science Communication (ISAS, International School for Advanced Studies, Trieste, Italy), she completed a Ph.D. and carried out a postdoctoral fellowship in Knowledge Management and Technology Transfer for the Department of Physical Sciences at Helsinki University in Finland, within the research programs at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva, Switzerland). She has worked as promotion officer for the Technology Transfer group (TT) at CERN and as scientific journalist for the European Middleware Initiative (EMI) at INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Padua, Italy). After having been the Head of Communications at the Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics (SIB), at the Physics Department in Geneva University, and for the Cloud Computing Company, MAAT-G Geneva, she is now the Responsible for the Outreach activities of the CERN experiment TOTEM (TOTal cross-section, Elastic scattering and diffraction dissociation Measurement at the LHC). She has an extensive experience in the field of scientific and technological communication, in particular in project management, media publishing, and public relations. She is author and editor in a wide range of subject areas; among her publications: A History of International Research Networking (Wiley, 2010) and Knowledge Management in an International Research Centre (Lambert Academic Publishing, 2011).
