Wilma Katri Linnea Saijonkari
Wilma joined IPPOG in September 2026 as a CERN Administrative Student, supporting the IPPOG Core Team with the development and communication of the organisation’s website and online content.
With a background in communications, marketing and digital content creation, Wilma has experience across events, the public sector and international organisations. Her work has included website development, digital and media content, communication campaigns and strategies, and communicating complex topics to different audiences.
Wilma holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on marketing and is currently completing a Master’s degree in History at the University of Turku. Her academic interests centre on education and learning, particularly the opportunities and future prospects of children and young people. She is interested in how accessible information, education and encouragement can help young people discover their interests and imagine possibilities for their futures.
Wilma is particularly interested in science communication and digital outreach, and in making complex knowledge engaging and accessible to wider audiences. At IPPOG, she hopes to contribute to outreach that encourages young people to stay curious, explore science and pursue their interests and aspirations, regardless of their starting points.
